Julie Patton is an equine and portrait photographer based out of Northern Colorado.  A lifelong horse owner and avid equestrian, Julie has made a career out of horses her whole life. With a background in equine reproduction, Julie worked for many years in the technical aspects of freezing semen and breeding mares before changing her course of study to photography after her children were born.  “With the realization that breeding season coincides with summer time for my kids, I needed to find something else to do with horses that satisfied both the creative and analytical parts of my brain.” Julie says.  “Photography came easily to me and my understanding of horses allows me to ensure that both the horse and the human in the image are seen in their best light.”

Julie Patton currently lives in northern Colorado, but travels regularly throughout the U.S. to photograph both horses and people, specializing in Arabians and the horse-human connection. She is available to shoot anywhere in the world.  Have camera, will travel!
